What to expect

What to expect

Different people come to us for different reasons (symptom relief, improving function, preventative care, maintaining health or simply for a check-up). So, the first thing we do is to find out what we can help you with.

Our Initial Consultation includes a case history, an examination (involving assessment of your spine, joints, nerves and muscles using orthopaedic, functional, and neurological tests), and digital on-site x-rays (if clinically required). It takes 30-40 minutes for this consultation.

Why we do
what we do

We all have different goals and objectives that we want to achieve from care. We will ask you questions about the impact/effect that your circumstances have on your quality of life to establish individually set goals, to give us focus and direction on the right outcome for you. These may be related to achieving something which a limiting factor is not allowing you to do, or it could simply be related to improving your health potential. Having a specific goal (or a why) we find helps people achieve better results and outcomes.

How the process works

Once we have done the Initial Consultation, physical assessment and taken x-rays (if clinically required) we will give you feedback specific to your individual circumstances. We call this the Report of Findings (RoF). During the RoF we will tell you if we can help you, how we can help, how long it will take and how much it will cost. It is at this appointment we will get started with care.

Our
Clinic

We have developed a modern, clean, light and up-lifting space for our clients because we believe that health and healing don’t come just from passive treatments but also the environment and space in which people are cared for. In our clinic you won’t feel like you’re in a medical setting; rather a calm, warm and relaxing space for you to enjoy.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is a chiropractic adjustment and does it hurt?
    • An adjustment is the hands-on manual, highly specific movement of any joint (usually in the spine or pelvis) to restore its function and therefore remove interference to the nervous system to allow the body’s healing process to occur.

The movement of the bones in the spine generates negative pressure causing bubbles in the joint to pop which is the sound you may hear/have heard (a popping or 'cracking' noise).

Although it may look like it will hurt, most people find that the adjustment is not only painless but feels good. For some people there may be minor discomfort during, or directly after, the adjustment. This is an important part of the healing process and will usually clear up within 24-48 hours.
  • Will I need X-Rays?
    • Taking x-rays can provide a deeper, more detailed assessment of your spine, specifically showing clear alignment of your skeletal structure, any joint, disc or bone conditions and it can be used to help rule out anything more sinister that may need medical attention.

Your specific circumstances and the results from your consultation and assessment will determine whether x-rays will be necessary. If you have any concerns at all, feel free to raise these at your consultation.
  • How long will I need to visit a chiropractor for?
    • Chiropractic care focuses on the cause of the problem. By supporting the body’s natural processes (and innate intelligence), a series of manual adjustments to realign the body achieves effective and enduring outcomes.

How many visits you need will be determined by several factors:

      · How long you have been experiencing any symptoms
      · What the cause is
      · Your age
      · If you have any other conditions
      · Your lifestyle i.e. levels of stress, physical exertion/activeness
      · What you want to achieve through your care

Progress will be regularly reviewed and monitored throughout your care with us, ensuring we are providing the most appropriate care for you.
  • How much will it cost?

Testimonials

[Life Effect Chiropractic] has really had a positive impact on my life and I’ve noticed such a difference with being able to get my life back on track. I am now able to walk the dog, play with the kids and enjoy life without my back holding me back. I would recommend the clinic to anyone who is considering getting assistance, awesome service in a local practice. Thank you!

My health and movement has improved so much in the few months, it’s scary to think back to how restricted my movement was when I first went to visit them. The whole process from the very first appointment, the adjustments to progress appointments is so smooth and easy…The staff are all so lovely, welcoming and patient that I always look forward to my visits with them!

[Because of Chiropractic care], I have been able to do activities without suffering so much pain. I have been able to do cross stitch and crochet (which I hadn’t been able to do for about 10 years). I feel more grounded in myself. I couldn’t have been more ‘unsure’ about seeking help, initially cancelling my first appointment, but with encouragement, kindness and professionalism I have no regrets, only thanks to the team for giving me an area of my life back!

Thank you for your calm, quiet, patient approach, which made an initially scary new experience a breeze. I have hobbled in and walked out tall!

Because of Chiropractic care, I have better posture, much better sleep, much more able to move my joints including being able to turn my neck, and I am less stressed out! My friends and family say I am like a new person and much happier. I do not need as much help from my colleagues for the physical aspects of my job anymore. If I drop a pen I can actually bend to pick it up! My whole life has changed for the better.

Life Effect are very welcoming and lovely people who put you at ease and it could change your life in a very positive way!
